As the Chief Executive Officer of Instant Systems, Tara Ramsey draws upon her depth of leadership experience in growth companies with innovative products. As rapid advances in biotechnology continue, specifically in areas of cell-based assay/culturing, tissue engineering/regeneration, biopharmaceuticals and fermentation, Tara uses her experience to spearhead the next generation of products designed to anticipate and solve future challenges facing these fast growth markets.
Tara has proven experience in building ‘Built-to-Last’ companies. Prior to Instant Systems, she took a start-up biotech and grew it into a globally renowned company responsible for innovations in point of care diagnostic medical devices. In 2007, this company, Instant Technologies, was sold to Inverness Medical. Today it continues to thrive as a division of Abbot Diagnostics.
While building strong companies and advancing essential innovations remain Tara’s primary focus at Instant Systems, she finds one of the most rewarding aspects of her role as CEO is collaborating with other business and community leaders to drive positive social change. Her commitment in this area emphasizes creating quality, well-paying job opportunities for a workforce representing a wide range of backgrounds and perspectives, and ensuring access to world-class healthcare for everyone.
Uzair Rajput is the Chief Operations Officer at Instant Systems, where he oversees daily operations and spearheads strategic organizational changes designed to enhance company culture and operational efficiency. Uzair adopts a comprehensive approach to managing operations, leveraging his extensive expertise in manufacturing and quality systems gained from his background in automotive manufacturing, human tissue and cell processing, and medical device development.
Utilizing LEAN manufacturing principles, Uzair directs the Instant Systems team toward reducing waste and driving continuous improvement initiatives, resulting in significant value for customers and increased profitability for the company. His strategic leadership in supply chain management has consistently ensured uninterrupted operations, even during highly challenging periods.
Additionally, Uzair’s operational methodologies have been instrumental in facilitating successful integrations following mergers and acquisitions, effectively blending systems and organizational cultures to sustain smooth transitions and long-term success.
Gerald T. Ramsey, Ph.D., serves as Chief Financial Officer at Instant Systems, where he leads financial planning and analysis efforts critical to the company’s strategic decision-making. Dr. Ramsey’s deep commitment to achieving optimal patient outcomes is rooted in his experience as founder and CEO of Ghent Psychological Practice, a prominent multi-location mental health provider in Hampton Roads.
Throughout his career, Dr. Ramsey has advised numerous healthcare institutions and organizations nationwide, providing valuable insights into the current landscape and envisioning future directions in healthcare. He continues his active involvement in healthcare through his role at Instant Systems and by mentoring and supporting health technology startups in the region, with a particular focus on innovations that enhance the quality and efficiency of patient care.
