CranioLoc™ Cranial Bone Flap Storage System

Safeguard the storage and handling of autologous tissue with CranioLoc®

The CranioLoc® Storage System is specifically designed for the collection, storage, and aseptic presentation of cranial bone flaps. Engineered for integrity, it ensures secure preservation down to -80°C. The sterility sleeve provides aseptic sealing, while the double peel pouch configuration enables the sterile presentation of bone flaps for reintroduction.

Double Peel Pouch Design

The double peel pouch design protects during storage and facilitates aseptic reintroduction of the bone flap. This system supports aseptic handling and storage within a hospital setting.

Sterile, Single-Use

CranioLoc® pouches are single-use with a sterility assurance level (SAL) of 10⁻⁶, ensuring the highest standards for the protection and aseptic reintroduction of sensitive grafts, supporting the protection of cranial bone flaps.

Heat Sealed Protection

Unlike traditional methods that involve wrapping or twisting closures, CranioLoc® is designed to be heat-sealed in the OR, ensuring the highest level of security and protection for cranial bone flaps. This creates an airtight, sterile barrier that safeguards against environmental exposure, contaminants, and potential damage.

CranioLoc® FAQs

CranioLoc® is a sterile, single-use packaging system for interim storage of autologous tissue at temperatures as low as -80ºC

CranioLoc® is designed and recommended to store autologous tissues. Although originally designed to solve challenges associated with storage of cranial flaps at hospitals, CranioLoc® is not limited to the storage of cranial flaps only.

Yes, CranioLoc® pack contains ten individual sterile standard 90-136 kits. Each kit contains a 7.5”x9” inner Primary pouch and a 9”x10” Secondary overwrap. This two-pouch system will accommodate a bone flap up to 6” in its widest diameter. CranioLoc® Plus pack contains one sterile 10.5”x12” Secondary overwrap used along with one standard 90-136 kit. This will accommodate larger bone flaps including a hemi cranium. The 9”x10” overwrap from the standard 90-136 kit becomes the new Primary pouch and the Plus 10.5”x12” pouch becomes the overwrap.

Yes, you can but the larger overwrap must be used in tandem with the standard kit.

CranioLoc® Sealers are available through Instant Systems. The item number is 60-077.

The Sealer has two numbered dials for temperature and cool down control. The proper settings are #s 4 and 4.

Standard lead time is one week, however, in majority of the cases we offer same day shipping.

Yes, the appropriate storage temperatures are recommended by the American Association of Tissue Banks® (AATB). For specific details, please refer to the AATB Standards and The Association of periOperative Registered Nurse (AORN) Manual. Most hospitals establish their own procedures/protocols based on these two sources. There may also be FDA or other local and/or state regulations that may need to be addressed by the user.

Please refer to the AATB Standards. You may be required to be an accredited tissue bank to transport even autologous tissues.
